The miniature railway is often overlooked as it is in a picturesque woodland area surrounded by trees. It is run by a group of volunteers of all ages and they are adding lots of new attractions to appeal to all ages, but it is weather dependant to a degree, so they wanted to promote their open days and how to find them. A great day out, (take a picnic) and well worth a visit. Follow them on facebook or find out more on their website here: https://lmmes.co.uk
Super Slow Way is a geography and a process, as well as a programme. They support people along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Corridor using its rich assets of environment, heritage, and community. The tools will be used by the project team who work with young people aged 10-17 years who have come to the attention of the Police or courts due to wrong choices being made and receive an element of reparation to carry out as a way of making amends for their actions and take responsibility for their behaviour. They work together to develop new community spaces along a canal stretch in Blackburn for people to enjoy a range of activities. The project allows people to come together and get to know one another and enjoy a range of activities. Over the coming months there will be a range of free workshops and activities including canoeing, archery, creative workshops, growing and cooking along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.
Carnforth Rangers are our local grassroots football club and have 27 teams within the club, with over 450 members across the teams. There are 23 teams in the junior section of the club with over 300 local children playing, so we are delighted to be able to support them.
