From fielding a single male side back in the day, the club now supports 2 senior teams, a Ladies / Girls Softball team and Under 9 and Under 11 Junior Teams all representing the club in the Westmorland Cricket League during the 2024 season. They also provide training for all children in the local village and surroundings with All Stars ( 4-8 yrs) and Dynamos ( 9-11 yrs). The grant was used towards the purchase of a Bola professional bowling machine, a much-needed upgrade for the club. The current machine has been in use for 15 years and has served the players well, but last season, it had begun to show significant wear and tear. The motors were not working properly, causing balls to get stuck, a frustrating and potentially dangerous issue, while the plastic housing was cracked and broken. A high-quality bowling machine is an essential piece of equipment, providing players with the practice they need to develop their skills. With the club continuing to grow, particularly with the establishment of the women’s and juniors’ sections, a more reliable machine is necessary to support all members effectively.
