West End Impact

West End Impact

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £859 to West End Impact for a commercial dishwasher.

West End Impact is a community charity based in Morecambe’s West End, supporting people facing poverty, homelessness, poor health, addiction and mental health challenges. For more than 23 years, the charity has provided a safe and welcoming space where people can access practical help, community meals, advice, wellbeing support and opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Alongside its food bank and support services, West End Impact offers counselling, mental health workshops, therapeutic art groups and volunteering opportunities. The charity also works closely with partner organisations to help people access housing, healthcare and addiction support.

At the heart of many of these activities is the charity’s busy kitchen and community café, which provides an important place for people to connect, socialise and access support in a relaxed environment.

The grant funded a commercial undercounter dishwasher, helping the organisation cope with growing demand, particularly during its popular Wellbeing Wednesdays, Thursday community meals and regular advice sessions.

The new dishwasher provides fast, high-temperature sanitising cycles, ensuring a constant supply of clean mugs, cups, plates and cooking equipment. While relatively small in size, the appliance has made a significant difference to efficiency, hygiene standards and the charity’s ability to serve people safely and effectively.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).

Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
