West End Impact

West End Impact

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £94 to West End Impact for two food crate dollies. West End Impact is a community charity based in Morecambe’s West End, supporting people experiencing poverty, hardship and isolation.

At the heart of the charity is its food bank, where volunteers pack and distribute emergency food parcels every week. There is no limit on visits and no one is turned away, ensuring that vital support is always available. Alongside this, West End Impact runs twice-weekly drop-in advice sessions offering help with benefits, housing, budgeting, form filling and access to phones, Wi-Fi and computers. The charity also provides a welcoming café serving warm, nutritious meals, as well as a wide range of wellbeing activities including mental health courses, creative workshops and a community garden.

Food parcels are pre-packed in crates ready for distribution, which can become heavy when stacked. The wheeled dollies funded by the grant allow volunteers to move these crates safely and efficiently. With the growing demand for food support, the addition of two more dollies (although it may sound like a small thing) will help protect volunteers from injury, save time and ensure vital food parcels continue to reach individuals and families quickly and smoothly.

If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
