Victoria Institute, Caton
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £236 to the Victoria Institute, Caton for four folding tables.
The Victoria Institute is a well-used village hall at the heart of the Caton community, providing a venue for a wide range of activities and groups. Regular users include a toddler group, children's dance classes, chair-based exercise sessions, Pilates, line dancing, square dancing, the WI, singing groups and talks for older residents.
The hall also hosts a community library, making it an important local resource that brings people of all ages together.
The grant funded four new folding tables to support both regular and occasional users of the hall. The tables provide flexible, practical equipment that can be used for a wide variety of activities, meetings, classes and community events.
By improving the facilities available, the new tables have helped ensure the hall can continue to meet the needs of local groups and remain a welcoming space for the wider community.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.
Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
