The Rainbow Centre Morecambe

The Rainbow Centre Morecambe

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £1000 to The Rainbow Centre Morecambe for some new exterior signage.

The Rainbow Centre; 'the Youth club for the over 50's!' provides a wide range of activities for the over 50's to engage in, primarily to address social isolation and enable older people from the area to develop their social networks.

Their premises in an extensive old building, which was previously a Methodist Church, are tucked away just off the promenade in the Poulton area of Morecambe, down a quiet little side street. It is a lovely spot — but they knew it could be a bit tricky to find, especially for new visitors! There was some old signage but it wasn't very visible from the road. They approached us for a grant as they planned to add clear, colourful and welcoming signs to the front of the building — something that would catch the eye from the promenade and make it much easier for people to spot them. The grant enabled them to cover the full cost of designing, producing, and fitting the new frontage signage, plus a sign next to the main entrance and another on the side of the building. It was a small change that made a big difference!

If the 3R foundation could help with funds for a vital piece of equipment, then clubs and groups can apply for a grant using our simple form here:

And please call into our modern, bright and friendly charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco) which is where we raise the funds we give out as grants in the Lancaster, Morecambe, North Lancs and South Lakes area!!
