The Lakeland Trust for Natural Sciences ( Lakeland Wildlife Oasis)

The 3R Foundation has recently awarded a grant of £580 to The Lakeland Trust for Natural Sciences ( Lakeland Wildlife Oasis) for three sets of four 60L recycling bins.
Owned and operated by a registered charity, the zoo prides itself on its commitment to education and conservation of wild species and wild spaces. With over 100 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates, it’s a unique and exciting blend of wildlife and interactive hands-on displays.

The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis works closely with local universities, zoos and charitable organisations on a variety of conservation and education projects, and hosts more than a thousand schoolchildren each year for curriculum-linked sessions. They also provide placements and internships for students from local colleges and universities.
The new recycling bins will be placed in the picnic areas to encourage visitors to recycle more and help reduce waste.
If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or a vital piece of equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
