Stagestruck Theatre Group

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £250 to Stagestruck Theatre Group at Bolton le Sands for costumes and character props for their latest production.
Stagestruck Theatre Group was founded 25 years ago for children and young people aged 6–18, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and abilities.

The group provides a fun, nurturing, and inclusive environment where participants explore drama through acting, dance, and singing, with the goal of giving every child the chance to perform in four live stage shows each year.
The season begins in September with an information evening, followed by rehearsals and optional auditions. Every child is guaranteed a role—whether leading, supporting, or in the chorus—and will have the opportunity to perform on stage. Rehearsals take place weekly from October to December, increasing to twice weekly in the lead-up to show week. Sessions include warm-ups, social activities, and structured workshops designed to build confidence and teamwork, culminating in exciting dress rehearsals.
Stagestruck partners with the local community centre in Bolton-le-Sands and Carnforth High School, using these venues for rehearsals, fundraising events, and performances.
The grant was used to purchase the costumes needed for their latest show 5 Children and IT. These are either ready made costumes, or individual items needed to put together an outfit and accessories for all of the cast in the show. The grant will also go towards purchasing Arts and Crafts items which can be made into either stage/character props. Stagestruck has ample storage which enables them to store and reuse or adapt costumes and props where appropriate for future productions.
