Slyne-with-Hest Memorial Hall Charity
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £833 to Slyne-with-Hest Memorial Hall Charity for smoke detectors for the under-stage area and the store room.
The Hall has been a community venue for 103 years and also serves as a village memorial for both World Wars. It provides accessible space for groups and individuals to meet for social gatherings, recreational clubs, sports, meetings, and even voting. By offering a safe and welcoming environment close to home, the Hall helps people connect and combat social isolation.
The grant was used to install smoke detectors in the under-stage area and store room. The Hall had identified that the lack of detectors in these spaces could be a serious risk, as a fire starting from an electrical socket or light might remain undetected until it was well established, potentially impeding safe exits from the building. The new detectors provide crucial early warning, improving safety for all hall users and safeguarding this historic community asset.
If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
