The 3R Foundation recently awarded £450 to Slyne-with-Hest Memorial Hall for upgrades to their audio system and to provide a hearing loop.

Slyne-with-Hest Memorial Hall Charity is managed by a voluntary committee and trustees who work together to provide a well-used and valued amenity for the local community. A wide range of groups regularly use the hall, including dance classes, the Over 60’s Club, karate, toddler groups, the local history society, bridleway meetings, Pilates, pre-school sessions, and private functions.

Unfortunately, the existing audio system in the hall had become outdated and faulty. The committee wanted to upgrade the system to include a hearing loop and improved sound system, making it more accessible and effective for community groups, events, and private bookings. Speciifcally for one of the major events planned which was for the VE Day celebrations, where background music would enhance the atmosphere as people enjoyed afternoon tea together.

While income from regular bookings helps cover the day-to-day running costs of the substantial building, any additional improvements, such as the audio system, are difficult to fund without external support. The charity was therefore very grateful for the 3R Foundation help towards this important upgrade for them.
