Slyne with Hest Bowling Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £356 to Slyne with Hest Bowling Club for energy-efficient floodlight lamps.

Slyne with Hest Bowling Club is an inclusive community club run by a dedicated team of volunteers who help maintain a welcoming environment for people of all ages and abilities. The club offers opportunities for both social bowling and competitive play, while also providing an important space for local people to meet, stay active and connect with others.

The club’s floodlights were nearing the end of their lifespan and needed replacing. To improve efficiency and reduce energy use, the grant funded new energy-efficient lamps, helping modernise the club’s facilities and reduce ongoing running costs.

The improved lighting has helped ensure the club can continue offering safe and welcoming evening activities for members and visitors alike, while supporting the long-term sustainability of the club.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
