Morecambe Parish Church Children’s Choir
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £183 to Morecambe Parish Church Children’s Choir for 11 branded hoodies.
The Children’s Choir plays an important role in the life of Morecambe Parish Church and the wider community, giving young people the opportunity to enjoy singing together while developing their musical skills, confidence and friendships.
Throughout the year, the children take part in rehearsals, church services, performances, events and trips, providing plenty of opportunities to perform and represent the choir within the local community.
The 3R grant funded 11 branded choir hoodies, giving the children something practical to wear while also creating a stronger identity for the group.
For the young members, the hoodies are about much more than keeping warm! Wearing the same clothing helps create a sense of belonging, unity and pride, making each child feel recognised as part of the choir and helping them look and feel like a team when performing or attending events together.
And we have to say, we particularly approve of the colour – purple hoodies are always going to go down well with us at 3R!
It's another good example of how a relatively small grant can provide something that will be used regularly while helping young people feel included and proud of the group they belong to.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).
Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
