Morecambe Hawk YFC

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £560 to Morecambe Hawk YFC for four sets of foldable football goals.

Morecambe Hawk YFC is a grassroots community football club supporting around 200 children across a wide range of age groups. The club provides fun, inclusive and developmental football opportunities where young players can build skills, confidence and teamwork while enjoying the game. Training sessions and match days also bring families and the wider community together, helping strengthen local connections through sport.

Recent changes to the club’s facility arrangements meant that their existing 7-a-side goals could no longer be stored on site. Previously, volunteers had to rebuild the goals before Sunday matches and store them in a corridor during the week. With storage space no longer available, this created difficulties hosting fixtures at Mossgate.

The grant funded four sets of foldable goals, which can be securely and easily stored without disrupting other users of the facility. The new goals allow the club to set up quickly on match days and continue hosting games for their younger teams.

As well as supporting regular fixtures, the foldable goals will also be used for future tournaments and community events, helping bring even more children and families together to enjoy football at Mossgate.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
