Morecambe Centre (Memorial Hall)

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £167 to the Morecambe Centre (Memorial Hall) for a new folding trestle table.

The Morecambe Centre (Memorial Hall) is a busy community hub located next to Poulton School and Morecambe Parish Church. Its three halls are used throughout the week by a wide variety of local groups, including yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, dance classes and model car racing.

The hall is also home to The Lighthouse before and after school club, which supports children from Poulton and Morecambe Bay Schools, as well as the popular Poulton Playtime toddler group. Outside regular activities, the venue is frequently hired by local residents for parties, weddings and other community celebrations.

With so many groups using the facilities each week, the hall's furniture sees heavy use. Some of the existing folding trestle tables had become damaged and unsafe, creating a potential health and safety risk.

The grant funded a replacement folding trestle table, ensuring the hall can continue to provide safe, reliable facilities for the many community groups and events that take place there each year.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).
