Milnthorpe Primary School PTA

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £500 to @milnthorpe_primary_school PTA for a wooden role play mini skip and blocks.
The PTA is a small group of parents and carers that works to support the school by enhancing pupils' education through fundraising and engagement activities. Their goal is to raise £4,000 annually to fund extras the school could not otherwise afford. Past contributions include coach costs for trips and events, book bags for new starters, play area subsidies, lighting for school plays, nursery playground equipment, and a Christmas book for every child.

The grant was used to buy a mini skip with blocks as part of improvements to what was a rather barren space, know as 'the quad'. The newly renovated area now provides provide a valuable outdoor play space for their new Baby and Toddler Playgroup - a much needed resource for local parents and carers. On dry days the children will be able to play outside in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. The space is also bordered by the Year 1 classroom - the improvements will be used by this class for all kinds of learning opportunities such as messy play, growing plants and vegetables. Finally they have some children who find playtime in the main school playground a little overwhelming. The new quad will offer a smaller, quieter play space for them to enjoy, in smaller groups.
If the 3R foundation could help with funds for a vital piece of equipment, then clubs and groups can apply for a grant using our simple form here:
