Middleton & Overton Sport FC

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £500 to Middleton & Overton Sport FC for materials to refurbish and upgrade their clubhouse interior. The club, based between Overton and Middleton, provides football facilities for a range of junior and adult teams and also hosts training and matches for several Morecambe Girls FC teams, making it an important hub for local grassroots sport.

The grant provided the financial support for essential repairs following the discovery of significant damp patches in the changing rooms. Once their volunteers investigated, the entire ceiling had to be removed, leaving both changing rooms in urgent need of reboarding, plastering and redecorating. Built in the 1980s, the rooms have seen little refurbishment since, and the club is taking this opportunity to improve the space for all its users.

Plans included installing shelving around both changing rooms, repainting the interior and adding ventilation to prevent future issues. The funding provided by the 3R Foundation ensured these improvements could be completed without placing financial strain on the club, helping them continue to offer safe, welcoming facilities for players of all ages.

If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
