Lunesdale Project Linus UK Group
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £400 to Lunesdale Project Linus UK Group for quilting materials, labels and packaging supplies.
Project Linus UK provides comfort, warmth and reassurance to children who are sick, disabled, disadvantaged or experiencing difficult circumstances. Through a network of dedicated volunteers, the charity creates and donates new, handmade, washable quilts and blankets to children who need them most.
The Lunesdale group covers North Lancashire and supplies quilts to organisations including local hospices, children's hospital wards, women's refuges, special schools and Unique Kidz & Co.
The grant funded essential materials including fabric, fleece and thread, enabling volunteers to continue making quilts for local children. Funding also provided labels, information cards, leaflets and protective packaging to ensure each quilt is presented safely and professionally before being distributed.
Every quilt is lovingly handmade by volunteers and given free of charge, providing not only practical comfort but also a powerful reminder that someone cares. The funding has helped ensure the group can continue creating and distributing these special gifts to children across the region.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.
Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
