Lunesdale Linus UK Group

The 3R Foundation has awarded £400 to the Lunesdale Linus UK Group for quilting materials and labels.
Project Linus has been established for 25 years across the UK, providing comfort and warmth to children in need through the gift of handmade quilts. The Lunesdale Linus Group was formed in March 2025 to support children in the North Lancashire area, and their dedicated team of volunteer sewers lovingly create and donate beautiful quilts to places such as the children’s ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, the Forget-Me-Not Centre at St John’s Hospice, and the Lancaster Women’s Refuge.

This grant will help the group purchase essential materials including fabric, thread, and quilt backing, as well as the official Linus labels sewn into each quilt. While many volunteers buy materials themselves, the group aims to be as inclusive as possible, ensuring that anyone — regardless of their financial situation — can take part in creating these comforting quilts for local children in need.
If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or a vital piece of equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
We offer small grants to support projects across Lancaster, Morecambe, North Lancs and South Lakes, and applying is quick and easy here:
