Lune Valley Lightning Under 12s Girls FC
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £227 to Lune Valley Lightning Under 12s Girls (Lune Valley Junior Football Club) for footballs and training equipment including bibs, gloves and cones.
Lune Valley JFC has been part of the local community since the 1980s, founded on the belief that football should be for everyone and remain affordable. The club continues to uphold that ethos, keeping costs as low as possible so all girls can take part regardless of their circumstances.
The Under 12s girls team provides a fun, inclusive environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team. Like many grassroots clubs, they rely on limited resources and volunteer support to keep things running.
The team had been using hand-me-down equipment that was over five years old and no longer fit for purpose. The grant funded new footballs, bibs and cones, helping improve the quality of training sessions and ensuring the girls have suitable equipment to develop their game.
This support has helped ensure the team can continue providing accessible football opportunities while maintaining a positive and enjoyable environment for all players.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.
Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
