Lancaster, Morecambe and District Churches Debt Centre

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £450 to LM Debt Centre (Lancaster, Morecambe and District Churches Debt Centre) for 2x laptop computers.

The charity is a local organisation working in partnership with the national charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to address a range of needs related to debt advice and financial management. In addition to operating a Debt Centre and offering Money Coaching courses, the charity is launching a Job Club. This will consist of three 8-week courses each year, delivered in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and other agencies, to support individuals seeking employment. The Job Club will provide training in areas such as motivation, skills identification, CV writing, and interview preparation. Participants will also have access to facilities to research and apply for jobs.

The grant was used to purchase two laptops; one will be for their Job Club manager which she will use for admin tasks, video calls etc, and for delivering the training courses in various venues in the local community. The second laptop will be for clients to use to search for, and apply for, jobs.

If the 3R foundation could help with funds for a vital piece of equipment, then clubs and groups can apply for a grant using our simple form here:
