Lancaster & District Hockey Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £300 to Lancaster & District Hockey Club for face protection masks.

The club was formed following the recent merger of Lancaster Hockey Club and Lancaster & Morecambe Hockey Club, bringing together players to create a stronger, unified club in the local area. The club supports hockey across all levels, from a thriving youth section through to adult teams for both men and women.

As a newly merged club, they have been developing a new identity, including updated branding, kit and equipment. With growing participation and renewed momentum, ensuring players have the right equipment has been an important part of this transition.

The grant funded the purchase of some face protectors, which are used during short corner situations to protect players from high-speed shots. These masks feature a steel grill design, offering both excellent visibility and a high level of protection.

Having suitable protective equipment helps ensure players can train and compete safely, while also supporting the continued growth of hockey in the local community.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
