Highgrove Blues Under 9s FC
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £350 to Highgrove Blues Under 9s FC for training kit, footballs, bags, cones and agility equipment.
Highgrove Blues Under 9s is a grassroots football team based at the Royal Albert Playing Field in Lancaster, providing local young players with a fun, supportive environment where they can develop football skills, build confidence and make lasting friendships. The volunteer coaches are committed to helping every child enjoy the game while promoting teamwork, respect and healthy, active lifestyles.
Following the departure of a previous coach, the team was left without the equipment needed for training and matches. Despite this setback, a dedicated group of young players continued to attend every week, eager to learn, improve and enjoy playing football together.
The grant funded training kit, footballs, equipment bags, cones and agility equipment, giving the team the resources needed to deliver enjoyable and effective coaching sessions.
For many of the children, the club offers much more than football. The coaches provide positive role models and a welcoming environment where every child feels supported, encouraged and included.
The new equipment has helped the team rebuild, ensuring the players can continue developing their skills and enjoying the many physical, social and wellbeing benefits that grassroots football provides.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).
Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
