Heysham Cricket Club - Junior Girls team

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £252 to Heysham Cricket Club for 12 new playing shirts for its newly formed Junior Girls team.

Based in the heart of historic Heysham Village, Heysham Cricket Club is a long-established, family-friendly club providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy cricket.

With both senior and junior teams, the club encourages participation in sport, promotes health and wellbeing, and provides a welcoming environment where young players can develop their skills, confidence and friendships.

The club has recently established a new Junior Girls team, creating more opportunities for local girls to get involved in cricket and become part of the club.

The 3R grant funded 12 dedicated team shirts, ensuring the girls have their own proper playing kit and can proudly represent Heysham Cricket Club in its colours.

Having a matching kit might seem like a small thing, but for a newly formed team it makes a real difference. It helps players feel part of the team, valued and included, building confidence and a sense of belonging both on and off the field.

It's great to see another local sports club encouraging more girls into cricket, and we're delighted to have helped the team get off to a flying start! 💜

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).

Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
