Goose Green Bowling Club

Goose Green Bowling Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £179 to Goose Green Bowling Club at Preesall, near Knott End-on-Sea, for a new fridge freezer.

Goose Green Bowling Club is a friendly and welcoming Crown Green Bowling Club, founded and built in 1985. The club currently has around 40 members, most of whom are retired, and provides a valuable social and recreational outlet for people in the local community. The club is run entirely by volunteers and offers a place where members can come together to play, chat, and stay active — whether they’re experienced bowlers or simply enjoy the company and fresh air that the game provides.

Like many small community sports clubs, Goose Green operates on a limited budget, and members take pride in maintaining the club themselves. The clubhouse provides a focal point for members and visitors to gather before and after matches, serving refreshments and fostering a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the club’s existing fridge freezer recently broke down beyond repair, leaving them without a way to store drinks and refreshments for games and social events.

The grant from the 3R Foundation will allow the club to purchase a replacement fridge freezer, ensuring that they can continue to offer hospitality to players and visiting teams. The committee and members are extremely grateful for this support, which will help keep their much-loved club running smoothly for the benefit of all who use it.

If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
