Friends of St Peter’s School, Heysham

The 3R Foundation has awarded £950 to the Friends of St Peter’s School, Heysham for two portable wireless PA systems.

The Friends of St Peter’s is a dedicated volunteer group that supports children’s education by enhancing learning experiences, resources, and community connections. The group plays an active role in strengthening ties between the school and the wider Heysham community, fostering collaboration with organisations such as the Heysham Neighbourhood Council, Heysham Cricket Club and Heysham Blue Stars Football Club. Their aim is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

The new sound equipment will benefit both the school and the wider community. Although owned and maintained by the Friends of St Peter’s, the PA systems will be available for use by other local voluntary groups and community events — from school performances to sports days and village gatherings. This shared resource will help enhance local events, encourage cooperation, and strengthen community spirit across Heysham.
