Friends of Langridge Residents Group
The 3R Foundation has awarded £919 to the Friends of Langridge Residents Group for a new outdoor notice board to help improve communication and community engagement across the Langridge estate. The group works to build positive relationships among neighbours of all ages and backgrounds, helping the estate thrive through regular activities, events and support.
Friends of Langridge hold monthly resident meetings with local councillors, council officers and community workers, alongside fun days, coffee mornings, social activities and community projects designed to empower residents. However, many households on the estate do not use social media, making it difficult for the group to share information widely. They have relied on leafleting and attaching flyers to lampposts and gates, but this has become costly, time-consuming and unsustainable.
The new outdoor notice board will provide a long-term, accessible way for all residents to stay informed about upcoming activities, meetings and opportunities. Positioned at the junction of Westgate and Langridge Way, it will allow even seldom-heard residents to stay connected, increasing participation and strengthening community ties. It will also help the group keep everyone updated on ongoing projects and support available.
If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
