Friends of Lancaster Library (FOLL)
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £675 to the Friends of Lancaster Library (FOLL) for a laptop and mobile phone.
FOLL is a community-led charity that supports Lancaster Library and promotes inclusion across the local area. They deliver a wide range of free, welcoming activities including craft clubs, talks, film nights and wellbeing drop-ins, helping bring people together from different ages, cultures and backgrounds.
They also run three community cafés, providing safe, affordable spaces that help reduce isolation and support people facing disadvantage, including families on low incomes, young people and underrepresented groups.
The grant funded a laptop, which is used at events and within the library to support activities such as film screenings, workshops, digital skills sessions and volunteer training. It also supports the day-to-day running of the organisation.
An accessible work mobile phone was also purchased for a neurodivergent staff member, enabling them to manage enquiries, bookings, volunteer coordination and café support more effectively. This has improved communication, responsiveness and overall support across their services.
The equipment has helped FOLL continue delivering inclusive, accessible activities while strengthening their support for both staff and the wider community.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.
Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
