The 3R Foundation recently awarded £449 to Crossgate Hope, Crossgate Church for two laptop PCs.

Crossgate Hope supports some of the most vulnerable adults in Preston, including people experiencing homelessness, those affected by addiction, individuals in recovery, ex-offenders and others facing significant challenges. Their work focuses on helping people rebuild their lives by supporting access to housing, employment and benefits, alongside running recovery groups.

In addition to this, they provide practical, day-to-day support including meals, clothing and a safe, welcoming space for those in need.

Demand for their services has grown significantly, increasing from just a handful of people each week to over 250 individuals weekly. As a result, their existing resources were no longer sufficient to meet demand.

The grant funded two laptops, enabling staff and volunteers to better support people with job applications, housing forms and benefit claims. Having additional equipment has improved access to vital services and allowed the team to respond more effectively to the needs of the growing number of people they support.

This investment has helped strengthen the organisation’s ability to provide practical support and pathways towards stability and independence.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
