Cornerstone Music Cafe

Cornerstone Music Cafe

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £424 to Cornerstone Music Cafe in Lancaster for a portable PA system.

Cornerstone Music Café provides a warm, welcoming social space for anyone, with a particular focus on people experiencing loneliness or isolation due to poor physical or mental health, bereavement, or cognitive decline. Registered with both the Alzheimer’s Society and the Lancaster ICC, the café supports individuals who benefit from music in a safe, supportive environment—helping them reconnect with cherished memories and meet others facing similar challenges. This also offers much-needed respite and connection for carers.

In addition to running its regular café sessions, the group visits residential homes, community venues, and places such as St John’s Hospice to deliver uplifting musical workshops that support both mental and physical wellbeing. After three successful years operating on a modest scale, Cornerstone Music Café relaunched in September with an expanded format, improved facilities, and greater capacity to welcome more people from the community.

To continue growing and to deliver their sessions more effectively, the group required their own portable PA system to replace a borrowed one. This will be used both in the café and at their outreach sessions, ensuring high-quality sound and reliability as they support more people across the district.

If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
