Carnforth & District Crown Green Bowling Club
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £978 to Carnforth & District Crown Green Bowling Club for an AED (defibrillator).
Carnforth & District Crown Green Bowling Club provides opportunities for gentle exercise, social interaction and competitive sport for people across the local community. The club welcomes a wide age range of members, from around 50 to 95 years old, and also hosts visits from local schools each year.
As well as promoting physical activity, the club offers an important social space where people can stay connected, active and involved in the community.
The grant funded the purchase of a defibrillator, ensuring vital emergency equipment is available on site in the event of a serious medical incident. The club recognised the importance of being prepared after experiencing the impact of cardiac emergencies within the wider bowling community.
Having an accessible AED on site provides reassurance for members, visitors and spectators, while helping improve safety for everyone using the facilities.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.
Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
