Burton Thistle Football Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £500 to Burton Thistle Football Club for youth team training equipment.
Burton Thistle Football Club, based in Burton-in-Kendal, is a long-established grassroots club with two adult teams affiliated to the Westmorland FA, competing in the Westmorland League. The club is now preparing to expand its reach by launching a youth section for the 2025–26 season, starting with a new Under-10s team.

To support the successful introduction of this youth set-up, the club applied for a grant to purchase essential training equipment. This equipment will enable their volunteer coaches to deliver tailored sessions that develop the skills and confidence of each child attending.
The grant funded a range of age-appropriate coaching tools including pitch marking equipment, portable goals, agility ladders, slalom poles, cones, bibs, and a coaching board. These resources are designed to create a safe, fun and structured training environment that promotes participation, learning, and physical development.
