Bowerham Juniors FC

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £560 to Bowerham Juniors FC for bibs, first aid kits, training cones and footballs.

Bowerham Juniors FC is a grassroots youth football club serving Lancaster and the surrounding area. The club currently supports around 200 young people aged 6 to 16 and prides itself on being open and inclusive. Unlike many clubs, players are not required to attend trials, with the focus instead being on participation, friendship, teamwork and enjoyment.

The club uses football as a way to encourage healthy lifestyles, build confidence and develop important life skills such as resilience, communication and cooperation.

The grant funded training equipment for four new teams being launched ahead of the new season. These include a new Under 7 boys team, an Under 9 boys team, and the club’s first dedicated girls teams at Under 8 and Under 11 level.

The funding provided footballs, bibs, training cones and first aid kits, ensuring each team has the equipment needed to train safely and effectively. The launch of the girls teams marks an exciting milestone for the club and reflects the growing popularity of girls’ football locally and nationally.

This investment has helped support the club’s continued growth while ensuring more young people have the opportunity to enjoy football in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
