Bolton-le-Sands Bowling Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £1,000 to Bolton-le-Sands Bowling Club for a defibrillator (AED).

Bolton-le-Sands Bowling Club is a well-established community club with 71 members, offering both competitive and social bowling throughout the year. The club fields teams in local leagues across the summer season, with matches played on multiple evenings and afternoons each week, alongside regular social sessions and winter play.

The club is a welcoming space not only for members, but also for visiting teams and spectators, making it an important hub for community activity and connection.

The grant funded the installation of a defibrillator, providing vital emergency equipment on site. This ensures that in the event of a cardiac arrest, immediate assistance can be given to a member, visitor or spectator while awaiting emergency services.

Having an accessible AED greatly increases the chances of survival in such situations and provides reassurance to everyone using the facility.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco). With a large number of grant applications coming in recently, continued support from the local community is more important than ever.

Every purchase in the shop helps raise the funds that go straight back out as grants to support local charities, clubs and community groups. If you are nearby, please call in and support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations across our area.
