Arnside Tennis Club

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £449 to Arnside Tennis Club for a fridge for their clubhouse.
Arnside Tennis Club is an open and inclusive club serving the local community and surrounding villages. It has around 70 members, including children and families, and also offers pay-and-play facilities to non-members. Reduced fees are available for juniors, students, and those who are unemployed to ensure tennis remains accessible to all.
The club runs seven weekly social tennis sessions and enters men’s, ladies’, and mixed teams in the Kendal and Lancaster Leagues. It also competes in the Winter Veterans’ League for over-50s. Many members are in their 60s and 70s, and regular tennis is invaluable in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

To provide hospitality to visiting teams, some travelling from as far as Coniston and Pilling, the club offers refreshments. However, their current fridge was on its last legs, possibly unsafe, and in urgent need of replacement. So they approached us at the 3R Foundation to fund a new fridge as it would make a significant difference, both for immediate use and as part of the club’s longer-term plans for a new clubhouse.
