Arnside Sailing Club
The 3R Foundation recently awarded £420 to Arnside Sailing Club for children’s and adults’ spray tops, throw bags, knee pads and paddleboard paddles.
Arnside Sailing Club provides sailing, paddleboarding and kayaking opportunities for both children and adults. As a recognised RYA Training Centre, the club delivers lessons at Arnside and Killington and runs a busy youth programme including weekly sessions, holiday courses and activities for schools and youth groups.
The club works hard to keep water sports accessible through affordable memberships, bursaries and support for families on lower incomes.
The grant funded essential equipment to support training and improve safety, including spray tops to help participants stay warm and dry, throw bags for water safety, knee pads for comfort during activities, and additional paddleboard paddles to enable more people to take part.
The new equipment has helped the club continue providing safe, enjoyable and affordable opportunities for young people and adults to build confidence, learn new skills and experience the outdoors.
The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).
Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
