11th Morecambe Scout Group

The 3R Foundation recently awarded £456 to 11th Morecambe Scout Group for folding tables and benches.

11th Morecambe Scout Group is a volunteer-led organisation supporting young people aged 4 to 18. Through weekly meetings, outdoor adventures, camps and community projects, the group helps young people develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and practical life skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Scouts provide opportunities for young people to challenge themselves, build friendships and create lasting memories while learning skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

The grant funded eight folding tables and sixteen folding benches, helping to improve the group’s camping and outdoor activities. Previously, the group relied on the tables used in their Scout hut, which were bulky, difficult to transport and not ideal for use on camps.

The new equipment is much easier to transport, set up and store, making it far more suitable for outdoor adventures. It also allows larger groups of young people to sit together comfortably for meals, activities and social time, helping to enhance the overall camping experience.

The 3R Foundation funds grants like this through the Recycle, Reuse, Rehome charity shop in Carnforth (next to Tesco).

Every purchase in the shop helps fund grants for local charities, clubs and community groups across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Please support the shop so we can continue helping even more organisations in our area.
