Preston Curling Club has been going for over 150 years and Alice told us that Wheelchair Curling Club was set up to offer a safe and inclusive space for members of the community who may otherwise face barriers to accessing physical activity. She went on to say that the benefits of sports and physical activity are well-documented, and individuals with disabilities are no exception. However, for many, there are significant barriers to participating in traditional sports programs, including a lack of access to facilities, equipment, and specialized coaching. The Curling club is dedicated to breaking down these barriers, ensuring that every individual can engage in physical activity and experience the many benefits of it. Some of the club participate at international level and the new ultra lightweight sticks make an obvious difference, and what a great venue!
