The 3R Foundation recently awarded £316 to Carnforth High School Forest School for a cooking tripod, stew-pot, kettle, plates and bowls.

Carnforth High School Forest School delivers Forest School sessions to over 40 students as part of an enhanced curriculum, working closely with learners who have additional needs. As a Forest School Association recognised provider, the programme offers a long-term learning process that supports holistic development through learner-led, hands-on experiences in a natural environment.

Through supported exploration and positive risk-taking, participants build self-confidence, self-worth, self-regulation and resilience. Outdoor learning plays a vital role in engaging students who may benefit from a more practical and inclusive approach to education.

The grant supported the purchase of outdoor cooking equipment, enabling learners to take part in more cooking activities within Forest School sessions. Cooking outdoors encourages teamwork, communication and practical life skills, while also helping students to develop independence and confidence in a safe, supportive setting.

If you know of a local charity, club or community group looking for funding for a project or equipment, the 3R Foundation may be able to help.
